« Ce que j’aime le plus chez les arbres, c’est qu’ils ne sont jamais vraiment seuls. Sous la terre, les champignons les relient entre eux, comme un réseau d’entraide invisible. Cette alliance silencieuse m’inspire : elle me rappelle que la forêt est d’abord une histoire de coopération. »

Tahina Roland Frédéric, Agronomist, Forest Ecologist & Regenerator

From the dry forests of Menabe, Madagascar, Tahina has committed his life to healing land, not just protecting it. Trained in forestry at ESSA (University of Antananarivo), he witnessed first-hand how deforestation, slash-and-burn agriculture, and abandoned soils devastate nature and communities. For over four years, he worked on conservation, park-management, habitat protection, and sustainable livelihood projects.

Out of that labor, he founded Taniala Regenerative Camp, a bold initiative that seeks to restore degraded lands through syntropic agroforestry, regenerative agriculture, soil renewal and community participation. His vision: to turn degraded soil into living earth, to weave forest and human livelihood together once again.

Under his guidance, Taniala RC planted forest gardens, nurtured nurseries of native species, trained local communities, and blended food production with ecosystem restoration. The project grew from a small pilot to a recognized model of resilience and hope.

In 2023, Tahina was selected as a Drylands Restoration Steward by Global Landscapes Forum — an international recognition that people rooted in dry forests can lead the global conversation on regeneration, climate adaptation, and ecological justice.

Tahina’s guardianship is not about fences or protection alone — it is about renewal, community, soil, roots, future. In a time of destruction, he plants hope.
